Pumpkin Chuckin

Roboat Robotics teamed up with other CAMP teams, Supermileage and Human Powered Machine, to construct a trebuchet to throw pumpkins in Rapid Citys Pumpkin festival for a competition with other teams in the area. In the end Roboat and our team won 2nd place in the competition.
New Year, New Team

Its a new year with a new Roboat team. After a year of tough deadlines and stressed members, we are back in a new, refreshed mindset and team. With a brand new focus on recruitment and fun, we plan to accomplish what we had failed to do in years past. We hope you all continue to watch out for us as we begin the year with a bang!

We are Back!!!

Its a new year with a new Roboat team. After a long and tough battle to make deadlines and get ready for the competition, we lost. BUT, we learned more about how important communication and proper deadlines are to an organization. We decided to use the lost as a way to improve and motivate ourselves. Be prepared to see more stories, more programs and more updates.
Carbon Fiber
12/2/2023
The carbon fiber tubes we ordered have arrived. These carbon fiber tubes are part of the biggest physical update to the boat this year. The foam/fiberglass composite deck from last year was found to be too flimsy and broke during shipping. This year, the team is replacing the deck with a series of carbon fiber tubes, which are much more stiff and are incredibly strong.
Orders are Coming

As we are midway through the month of November, material and parts orders are finally all sent out and we wait as the packages start to appear. Alongside with the orders being sent out, new RoBoat Robotics fliers are now available.
Outreach and Fundrasing

This week of November was an eventful one, with members helping fundraise and reach out to the community. On November 8th, our members participated in a job fair, where we had a booth promoting both RoBoat Robotics and SD Mines. On November 9th, we fundraised at the Rapid City Rush Hockey Game.

The Great Donut Mishap

On our Saturday work day, we decided to get donuts for the team, but through miscommunication we had four full boxes of donuts brought. As we ate our fill, one of our members stole one of the full boxes of jelly filled donut. This turned into a full chase after them. A very productive work day.
Website is offically published

We started the week off strong with the confirmation that RoBoat Robotics is joining CAMP. As the week progressed, we worked on maintenance on the hulls, building the cross members for connecting the hulls, and the publication of the website.
CAMP Meeting

After the success of our Monument Fundraiser, we started off the week strong by organizing and planning the timeline for the construction of our boat. Along with the new timeline set into place, We met with a CAMP representive about the future of RoBoat Robotics with CAMP.

Fundraiser Event

This week, the team joins together to help raise money this Friday at Monument. By working concessions stands during the Girls Lakota Nation Volleyball Tournament. Other relevant news includes the finished custom tip jar, the hull lid to work, and the primary coding for emergency stop has started.
